RERA shocks Godrej

Due to non-compliance with regulations

registration application rejected

RERA has given a shock to the leading real estate company, Godrej Developers and Properties. Haryana RERA rejected the company’s application for extension of registration on the ground of non-compliance. RERA said that despite repeated reminders, they failed to correct the errors in the application, and none of the details mentioned in the quarterly progress report of the project were adequate. It said that there are errors related to bank balances along with licence renewal. Godrej Company is developing a group housing project named Godrej Air Phase 4 in Sector 85, Gurugram. RERA registration was obtained for this in 2018. It is valid until June 2023. That means the promoter should complete the project accordingly.

However, Godrej requested that RERA extend the registration as the project was not completed within the stipulated time. However, RERA, which examined the application, found many errors in it and advised the promoter to correct them. Sufficient time has also been given for this. But there was no proper response from the company. With this, RERA also sent a final show cause notice in February this year regarding the rejection of the application. However, due to a lack of response from the promoter, RERA decided to reject the application. Also, the bank account for the project was frozen. People have been warned not to make any bookings for that project. In this context, Godrej Developers and Properties responded. It stated that they are continuously answering the questions raised by RERA and submitting relevant documents. A representative of the company said that it is in the process of submitting a letter to RERA requesting to set aside the orders passed, rejecting the application.
