IGBC’s Green Property Show from May 17

The event will be conducted for three days at Hitex.

The second Green Property Show of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) will be held from May 17 to 19 at the Hitex Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad. IGBC Vice Chairman C. Shekhar Reddy disclosed the details to this extent. On this occasion, he mentioned that there is a need to create awareness among people about environmental protection and resource conservation. Green buildings are said to reduce energy consumption by up to 30% and water consumption by up to 20%. He said that the construction cost of this green building will also be low. He said that Telangana currently has more than 825 green buildings.

He expressed that they have been saying for a long time that they should encourage builders and buyers who undertake green-certified residential projects. In this regard, they also made some recommendations to the previous government, but none of them were implemented. If there is no incentive from the government, it will be very difficult to convince the developers of green buildings. They said that they have not yet given any petitions to the current Congress government. However, in the vision document released by CII in February this year, there are three recommendations in this regard. Meanwhile, it was explained that the three-day property show will include information on green buildings identified by IGBC in the city, as well as sessions on various topics such as waste management and terrace gardening. He said that there will be drawing and painting competitions for the students on the topic ‘Dream Your Future in Green Home’.
