Supertech mulls new project in twin towers

  • Supertech has other plans
  • Emerald Court residents’ veto the plan

The Supertech is gearing up itself to build a new project in place of Noida twin towers once the rubble due to demolition of the twin towers is cleared. Currently, work related to clearing the debris is under way. The company is planning to take up a new housing project in place of the twin towers since the ownership of the land lies with the Supertech. Once the debris is cleared, permission will be obtained to build a new housing project at the site, discloses Supertech chairman RK Arora. “The land belongs to us.

A housing project plan as per the building rules will be formulated soon and will be submitted to Noida Authority. If necessary, approval of Emerald Court Residents’ Welfare Association is also taken, he clarified. Going by his words, the Supertech is gearing up itself for another battle with Emerald Court Association. In fact, the twin tower site should be developed as a green area. As the chairman expressed his desire to take up a residential project at the site as per the rules, it is clear that he is going to kick off another controversy.

Emerald Court Residents’ Welfare Association president UBS Totia, who fought a decade-long legal battle against Supertech builders to get the twin towers pulled down, responding to the statement of the Supertech chairman said that the Emerald Court residents would take a decision on how to use the land, but not the Supertech. “The land belongs to us, Supertech should not do anything without our permission,” he said clarifying on the issue. A decision would be taken after discussing it with residents of Emerald Court and the association will bear all costs and implement any project as suggested by the residents.
