Unsold houses come down..

A decrease in the inventory of unsold homes was recorded across the country. The report by PropEquity revealed that the inventory of unsold houses in nine major cities of the country reduced by 7 percent to 4,81,000 units in the last three months. While there were 5,18,868 unsold houses at the end of December 2023, they had been reduced to 4,81,566 by the end of March this year. In the January-March quarter of this year, 1,44,656 units were sold and 1,05,134 new units were launched in nine major cities in the country. In this context, there has been a decrease in the number of unsold houses. City-wise, Pune saw the highest drop of 13 percent. While there were 75,521 houses at the end of December last year, they were reduced to 65,788 at the end of March this year.

In Delhi, it decreased from 31,602 units to 27,959. While there are 54,633 houses in Mumbai, they are limited to 48,399. In Navi Mumbai, it decreased from 37,597 to 33,385. There were 1,12,397 unsold houses in Thane, which has come down to 1,06,565. In Bengaluru, it came from 47,370 to 44,837. As far as Hyderabad is concerned, there were 1,14,861 unsold houses at the end of December last year, but at the end of March this year, they were reduced by 4 percent to 1,10,425. In Kolkata, there was a decrease of 2 percent from 23,745 to 23,249. 21,142 to 20,959 in Chennai.
