“This whole living on your own is a very overrated process” ISHA TALWAR

A discussion with SAAS, BAHU AUR FLAMINGO fame ISHA TALWAR really made us feel how first homes never loses their soul — within the four walls her giggles bounced off and she often find a missing part of her there. Now, she’ll be seen in ROHIT SHETTY’s debut web series starring alongside SIDDARTH MALHOTRA, we quickly took this chance to ask questions about her sensibilities for a dream home that she fancies to have. And she says, “Just four years ago I bought a house of my own — with all the money that I had saved up. I am not a big spender! Actually, don’t really like to handle my finances and neither do I think about money so much on a daily basis. Give me creative work to do! It was my parents who were involved in the house-hunting process, I was okay with their choice and I saw my new home much later. My father is very practical, so he suggested me to invest. We have another home in Versova. I tried living independently too, but love coming back to my parents. This whole living on your own just to prove your worth is a very overrated process. We have a home in Delhi too. Because my grandparents migrated to the capital after partition. They were so wealthy there! Had to leave a 37-storeyed house in Pakistan.”

Harking back on her childhood home remembrance, she continued, “It’s just this year that we have moved out of our old home. Like, properly sold it away and it’s so heartbreaking! All of us had a thirty-five year old evocations in that home. I was born there, man. Happened to go there last weekend, and just faces and reminders. I walked in and began to feel so many echos. There were “baap re” moments there! There are times even now, when unknowingly I give that house’s directions to the rickshawala. It’s muscle memory! But my inner system feels really happy to go back to my first home, always and forever.” Her parents found her dream home, rather quickly. Elaborating further, “The more lavish decor, the more is time-consuming process of cleanliness in the home. Anyway with whatever we see online, so much of sensory overload. Thankgod, my parents already found a fully furnished house! As we speak, a statement piece from Jaipur is on its way but very basic things that I do for the home.”

What else about this new home that she had to reveal — “It’s time for me to live outside the hustle bustle of this city life now. Literally in the lap of nature!

Only my films are keeping me here, mentally I am already transported there. Will be done as soon as I am a little more established in this industry. I don’t want to worry about the audition process! That’s when you have achieved something in this industry, and that’s when I can take a leap for my personal rejuvenation too.” Any celebrity home that she admires, a very contrasting reply comes, “We hardly hang out in each other’s homes. But I have this habit of inviting everyone over! I drop my gaurds immediately. Feeling lately, over here celebrities are very gaurded, they don’t call you home until and unless there is a professional meeting. So many rules and regulations to come home? It’s bizzare. Even strangers come to my house for chai!”
