Minister KTR said that their aim is to protect the legacy of Hyderabad and provide a better Hyderabad to future generations by imparting modern technology. He was the chief guest at the real estate summit held at the HICC Novotel recently. On the occasion, the minister affirmed that their aim is to develop Hyderabad as the most influential city in the world by 2047, the centenary of independence.

He suggested that the use of electric vehicles must increase by 2040 and also advised using bicycles on major roads. He said that the use of electric vehicles will increase within 3 to 4 kilometers of metro stations. He said there is a need to construct more green buildings in the city and that IGBC has already started some efforts in this direction. The number of structures that reduce electricity consumption is expected to increase in Hyderabad. Property surveyors have been asked to do their best to reduce fuel consumption in already constructed buildings. It has been revealed that 977 urban parks have been developed under HMDA limits. Parks in an area of 500, 1000 yards, and half an acre should be developed. Minister KTR asked everyone to use electric vehicles to reduce vehicular pollution.

“We will make Hyderabad a safe city. We are working with Nalsar University to formulate strict rules to reduce cybercrime. Special measures are required to prevent fire accidents, and for this, we will improve the emergency system,” he said. He opined that the vehicles needed to prevent major fires cannot go into the small alleys, so there is a need to install modern devices. He said that they have set a goal to provide clean drinking water in Hyderabad 24/7.

415 kilometers of metro rail in 10 years..

Minister KTR said that for Hyderabad to become a cosmopolitan city, there is a need to develop a better public transport system. Therefore, it has been revealed that in the next 10 years, the construction of metro connectivity will take up 415 kilometers in Hyderabad. “In the next five years, we will build 250 kilometers of metro rail connectivity. The tender works for the metro train from Rayadurgam to Shamshabad have been completed. About 26 kms from BHEL to Lakdikapool, 5 kms from Nagole to LB Nagar, and 5.5 kms from MGBS to Falaknuma will be developed. As part of Phase 3, BHEL ORR to Isnapur, LB Nagar to Pedda Amberpet, Shamshabad to Kothur via Shadnagar, Uppal-Ghatkesar to Bibi Nagar, Shamshabad-Maheshwaram-Kandukur, Tarnaka-ECIL, JBS to Tumukunta, Paradise to Kandlakoya connectivity will be made easier,” he said, adding that a metro rail system will be developed around ORR. It has been revealed that they have set a target of establishing a metro for a total of 415 kilometers.

A new rapid rail system in the city…

Minister KTR said that the Centre has brought a new law to develop rapid rail transit in the state. “We are focusing on developing a rapid train to travel from Hyderabad to any part of Telangana within an hour,” he stated. He opined that it would be useful for both states to set up the RRTS system to go from Hyderabad to Vijayawada within an hour and a half. The rapid train runs at a speed of 120–160 kilometers per hour. He suggested that there is a need to develop RRTS on eight major roads connected to Hyderabad. “With these, you can go to places like Karimnagar via Shamirpet, Warangal via Ghatkesar, and Nizamabad from Kandlakoya within an hour,” he shared, stressing the importance of developing a rapid train so that it can reach Vijayawada within an hour. He said it would be better if a new train system were set up to run from Shamshabad to Mahabubnagar, from TSPA to Vikarabad, and from Zaheerabad in 45 minutes. He opined that if this system is made available, it will be a game changer for the Telugu states.
