The Regional Ring Road is being called a game-changer by the government as well as realtors and builders. Government officials believe the project has the potential to significantly boost Telangana’s revenue. Setting aside the question of how it would be possible to increase property rates now, even before they are expected to rise in the next decade, one topic has caught widespread attention: how many districts will the actual Regional Ring Road pass through? How many mandals will it cover? Through how many villages will it run?
RRR is being constructed in two sections, approximately 40 kilometres away from the existing Outer Ring Road. The central government has already given the green signal for the construction of the northern section of the Regional Ring Road and has called for tenders. HMDA has released the preliminary notification related to the RRR alignment. RRR is planned to be 100 meters wide. Stretching beyond Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road, the Regional Ring Road will pass through a total of eight districts. The HMDA notification also includes a digital map of the RRR along with details of the survey numbers through which the road will pass.
Under the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road construction project, a total of 163 revenue village panchayats across 33 mandals in the districts of Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar, Vikarabad, Nalgonda, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Medak, and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri will be affected. Officials believe that RRR project will not only increase land values in these areas but also improve transportation facilities.
HMDA is inviting objections and suggestions from the public and organizations regarding the preliminary RRR alignment notification. Citizens can submit their objections in writing to the HMDA Commissioner by September 15. After reviewing these inputs, HMDA will release the final notification for the RRR alignment.
